AZCyberTalent.com is a product of the AZ Cybersecurity Workforce Collaborative, convened by the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation through the Phoenix Forward initiative, an economic development initiative focused on business retention and expansion. The collaborative is made up of a wide variety of companies that have cybersecurity as a component of their business, but not as their core business function. The group consists of industry professionals, educators and training partners working to address talent shortages for security analysts at the junior, mid and senior levels.
The Cybersecurity Workforce Collaborative has partnered with members of the Arizona Technology Council (AZTC) to develop a continuum of workplace experiences and share best practices to expand these opportunities. The collaborative is currently leading the charge on a curriculum review of a local cybersecurity program that is national certified as a Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) to ensure it is producing talent that meets industry needs with hopes to expand this program across the region.
A robust action plan has been developed around 4 key areas:
- A collaborative marketing and communications strategy promoting cybersecurity careers in Arizona – one product of which is AZCyberTalent.com
- An education strategy focused on aligning education programs with employer needs and capacity building
- Increasing internal and external workplace experiences for job seekers
- Collecting and utilizing supply and demand data to make more informed decisions to strategically address talent shortages in cybersecurity
